Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 May 2026

This policy explains what personal data Mindwave Soundworks collects through this site, why, and what control you have over it. It is written to be read, not to be hidden behind.

Who we are

Mindwave Soundworks is a creative audio studio based in York, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Mindwave Soundworks is the controller of any personal data collected through this site.

If you have a question about this policy or your data, write to hello@mindwavesoundworks.com.

What we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the studio and the site.

  • Your email address, and any name you give, when you choose to join the mailing list.
  • The content of any message you send us by email.
  • Aggregate, anonymous usage statistics from privacy-respecting analytics. These do not identify you and do not track you across other sites.

How we use it

We use your email address only to send the updates you signed up for: new releases, projects, and studio news. We use the contents of your messages to reply and to carry out any work we agree.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not build profiles of you.

Email and the mailing list

The mailing list is managed through Kit (Kit.com, operated by Kit, formerly ConvertKit). When you subscribe, your email address is stored by Kit on our behalf. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.

Analytics

We use a privacy-first analytics service that measures page views and general traffic without cookies and without collecting personal data. We use this only to understand what is useful on the site.

Cookies

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Any cookie set is strictly necessary for the site to function. Because we do not use non-essential cookies, there is no cookie banner.

Sharing and storage

We use a third-party provider to manage the mailing list, which stores subscriber email addresses on our behalf. Our hosting provider processes standard technical data, such as IP addresses, in server logs. Some of these providers may process data outside the United Kingdom, relying on appropriate safeguards for international transfers. We do not share your data with anyone else.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your data.
  • Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Retention

We keep mailing-list data until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. We keep project correspondence for as long as needed to carry out and account for the work.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
